The Berkeley Festival Waterfront Company, developers of the £100 million Gunwharf Quays residential and retail project in Portsmouth, invited Marley Waterproofing to provide a quotation and suggestions for suitable products following the discovery of borderline levels of ground contamination at the site.

Gasgard and GasSeal were installed on all areas at risk, which included eight blocks of luxury apartments and two blocks of town houses, to completely eliminate any gas permeation. The installation also helped contractors accommodate new Part M requirements for disability access.

Gasgard was also used for complex pre-formed elements, particularly around the circular bay of one of the apartment blocks - which required a fast and accurate detailing service by Marley Waterproofing's technical team.

The prestigious residential development is due to be completed by the end of 2001 and will be complemented by a vast retail complex which includes a 14-screen cinema, factory outlet shopping centre, numerous bars, cafes and restaurants and an open air amphitheatre.
