Polyester BS 747 Type 5 roofing membranes are intended as component parts of a 2 or 3 layer built-up roofing system for flat, sloping and pitched roofs.

The range consists of 5U Underlay, 5B/180 and 5B/250 Underlayers, 5B/350 Top Layer, 5E/180, 5E/250 and 5E/350 Cap Sheets and Taping Strips. Type 5 membranes have the highest resistance to tear and greatest resistance to fatigue of the BS 747 roofing felts. The polyester fabric is rot proof and strong resulting in a greater level of durability compared with conventional rag and glass fibre based roofing felts.
