Bitumen roofing felts to BS 747 Type 3 are intended as component parts of a multi-layer built-up roofing system for flat, sloping and pitched roofs. They consist of a glass fibre base coated in high quality oxidised bitumen.

Consisting of 3 products: 3B Underlay is suitable for use as lower layers of a built-up roofing system or as a top layer when additional protective surfacings are applied. 3E Cap Sheet is surfaced with a green mineral finish and is suitable for use as a cap sheet without additional surface treatment. 3G Venting Base Layer is perforated to enable spot bonding when applying bitumen for the main underlayer.
