> Supastik - New Cold Applied Roofing System With growing concern about fire risks and consequent increases in insurance premiums, Marley Waterproofing has created Supastik - a self adhesive system which can be installed with confidence at all UK temperatures without the need for hot bitumen or torching. The Supastik Self Adhesive System is a complete two layer built up roof waterproofing system composed of self adhesive membranes with bonding achieved instantly and at temperatures as low as 5°c with the bonding strength increasing with time. This system for flat and sloping roofs offers the advantages of completely cold applied techniques. Supastik capsheets incorporate the same robust polyester reinforcements that are used in the company's high performance system products. The product range also comprises glass and polyester based underlayers, a vapour control layer and specially formulated primer that activates the adhesive coating of the membranes to promote a strong bond, even at low temperatures. In addition to the elimination of fire risk, Supastik offers an impressive range of additional benefits. It is quick, safe and clean to install, has superior fatigue endurance and durability, good finished surface appearance with colourfast mineral granules and instant trafficking, minimum surface disruption during laying plus fast drying, high tack primer. Martin Fisher,
Marley Waterproofing's Technical Services Manager comments "We
are pleased to be able to offer Supastik to the industry. Extensive
research and development went into this product and the result is
a cold applied system with excellent adhesive bond strength, which
actually increases over time, and which offers impressive long term
performance".
