> Seminar spreads the word on cold-applied A seminar organised by leading waterproofing product manufacturer Marley Waterproofing has provided building surveyors and property managers with valuable information about the growing importance of cold-applied roofing systems and the benefits they offer. Held at Liverpool Football Club in Anfield on 28th November, the seminar attracted representatives from leading surveying practices and public sector organisations. With concerns mounting over rising insurance premiums and the risks associated with hot works, it included a presentation on the alternatives available and highlighted their advantages in practice through a range of case studies. Delegates were also treated to live demonstrations showing the installation of Marley Waterproofing's leading cold-applied systems, LCMS20 and Mach One, on specially constructed flat roof rigs. Tony Doyle, at Marley Waterproofing, commented: "The seminar gave building surveyors and specifiers the opportunity to gain a full understanding of cold-applied roofing and the reasons behind its growth. The day ended with a fascinating tour of the club and feedback from delegates was extremely positive, with many commenting that the information received was extremely relevant to both current and future projects." Gilbert Jackson, Commercial Director, added: "Demand for flame-free roofing is increasing enormously. Our cold-applied systems respond to this, addressing responsible design considerations and providing building specifiers with a solution that meets the exact requirements of customers and contractors alike." LCMS20 is a two layer built-up roofing system suitable for use on warm and cold roofs whilst Mach One, a Quality in Construction Award winner for Innovation, is a single layer membrane. Both systems come with a 20-year single point guarantee and can be supplied with pre-formed details, thereby adhering to CDM regulations and safety at work concerns. Like all Marley Waterproofing products, they are accompanied by a full service package which includes initial consultation, specification, design and delivery through to ongoing monitoring and guarantee
